These pieces are manifesting conscious use of resources. I engaged small businesses in downtown Norfolk, VA. Organic kitchen waste was collected and I turned it into natural dyes in order to create three compositions:
“5 Onions”
”20 Avocado Pits”
”137 Black Beans”

By showcasing these pieces at a collective exhibition “A Look Within” (Aug-Nov2023) at the Visual Arts & Design Center at Norfolk Tidewater Community College, I aimed to emphasize how communities could be even more sustainable in their use of resources.
